Aging Resource Centers (ARCs) and
Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs)

Event: ADRC Expansion Grant Statewide Stakeholder Advisory Council - Agenda
Date and Time: September 21, 2011 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., EST
Place: Wyndham Westshore, 700 N. Westshore Boulevard, Tampa, Florida
Topic: Five‐Year Plan for Expanding ADRCs Statewide, etc.

The Aging Resource Centers (ARCs) work as a single, coordinated system of information and access for all Floridians seeking long-term care resources. Each of the eleven Area Agencies on Aging in Florida is a designated Aging Resource Center. The ARC provides information about and help with state and federal benefits. They can also help you learn about local programs and services. Contact your local ARC to determine if you or your loved ones can start receiving some of the benefits and services that we offer. To get started, select your local area on Florida map below or from the counties listed in the table below to locate the ARC near you.

By sharing a common information and referral system, the ARCs are able to provide elders with uniform assistance no matter where they live. This system also offers the public access to a statewide database of local community resources, available on the internet or by calling the Elder Helpline toll-free at 1-800-96 ELDER (1-800-963-5337). To streamline eligibility for services, staff of the Department’s CARES (Comprehensive Assessment and Review for Long-Term Care Services) program and eligibility specialists with the Department of Children and Families work together to help seniors learn more quickly whether they are eligible for long-term care services.
